Excelsior School of Excellence
Teaching is sacred work — and so is rest.
Flourish & Flow was created by Dr. Shaneeka Favors-Welch,
founder of Excelsior School of Excellence, as a healing space for
Black women educators to pause, breathe, and reconnect mid-semester.

A lifelong educator and advocate for humanizing education,
Dr. Favors-Welch has taught across K-12 and higher education, from Atlanta to China and South Africa.
Her work centers Black excellence, restorative justice, and culturally responsive teaching — reminding us that educators deserve the same care and community we strive to give our students.

Flourish & Flow is more than an event — it’s an act of collective restoration.
This gathering invites you to:
-
Reflect on how you’re really doing this semester.
-
Reconnect with other Black women teachers navigating similar joys and challenges.
-
Restore your mind, body, and spirit through wellness practices and intentional conversation.
Together, we’ll center balance, breath, and belonging — learning to flow through the work while still flourishing in the calling.

Space is limited to maintain intimacy and intentionality.
Come as you are. Leave lighter, affirmed, and renewed.
